Indoor pollution: a serious health threat
11 December 2024
A recent
study conducted by ENEA, CNR-ISAC, and two Italian universities has shown that
fine and ultrafine particles, primarily generated by urban traffic, can
infiltrate buildings and harm the respiratory system, increasing the risk of
illnesses such as bronchitis, heart problems, and cancer.
According
to the study, these particles become even more dangerous indoors because their
chemical properties change, making them more toxic.
We spend
nearly 97% of our time in enclosed spaces, which makes it all the more crucial
to improve air quality in the environments where we live and work.
What can
you do to improve indoor air quality and create a healthy, comfortable
environment?
